Pinelopi has a multidisciplinary background both on an academic and professional level. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Social Studies, an MA in Bioethics from the University of Crete, and a second MA in Communications Studies from the University of Leeds. She obtained her PhD on Surveillance Studies from the Open University, UK. She has worked as a journalist, communications manager, researcher and lecturer. Currently, she is working remotely as a Research Analyst at a leading multidisciplinary consulting and technology development company based in Ireland while living with her family in Italy. Pinelopi has been offering mentoring to her students and junior researchers over the years as well as to friends who wanted to change career or moving abroad. She has been member of the Athena Swan committee of the Knowledge Media Institute at the OU striving for the advancement of gender equality in academia.
