The Inclusivity Lounge: A hub for equality & women’s leadership at the 2020 Delphi Economic Forum

Κατηγορίες: Diversity & Inclusion, Inclusivity Lounge, Επιχειρηματικότητα, Εταιρική Κοινωνική Ευθύνη, Νέα

On Saturday March 7, the Delphi Economic Forum will host “The Inclusivity Lounge,” organized by Women On Top with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Athens and Coca Cola 3E, and in cooperation with Women Act and Lean In Hellas.

The Inclusivity Lounge will create a space for exchanging ideas and networking with others who share a commitment to promoting equal representation of men and women in all aspects of economic, social and political life.  All Delphi Forum attendees are invited to drop in between 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on March 7 to participate in discussions about elevating women’s roles into positions of responsibility and decision-making – something that will enhance the future for all of us.

U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey R. Pyatt will offer opening remarks at the opening of the Inclusivity Lounge at 4:00 p.m.

Subsequent panels, conversations and Q&A sessions with top speakers will examine potential solutions to the challenges preventing a more inclusive model of leadership in businesses, the dimensions of ethical technology, and the significance of equal access for women in promoting greater social cohesion.   They will also consider examples of international policies, the riddle of women’s representation in the political life of the country, and how gender-based stereotypes impact all aspects of the public sphere.

The goal of this initiative is for matters of gender equality, diversity and inclusive leadership to be raised at the heart of the Delphi Economic Forum, one of the most important platforms for thought leadership and decision-making in Greece.  Greece – which today is in last place on the European Indicator for Gender Equality – can become an example of positive change.  All who are interested in contributing to, or simply listening and learning more about, this important topic are welcome at The Inclusivity Lounge.

“We are excited to partner with Women on Top, Lean In Hellas, Women Act and Coca Cola 3Epsilon to organize Greece’s first Inclusivity Lounge initiative at the Delphi Economic Forum. Promoting inclusive leadership and gender equality in all sectors of society is a proven route to economic growth and increased productivity, and I am delighted that the U.S. Embassy has been able to partner with these dynamic Greek organizations to lift up the role of Greek women and thereby reinforce Greece’s role as a pillar of stability in the region,” Ambassador Pyatt said.

“This is both a critical and hopeful initiative for the issue of equality to be raised at the top of the agenda in important institutions and organizations, like the Delphi Economic Forum, because only through cross-sector cooperation on all levels of economic and political activity can we bring tangible change,” said Stella Kasdagli, co-founder of Women on Top. “We hope that other similar platforms will follow on this first example and that Inclusivity Lounges will be a necessary element for reflection and development.”
