Answers to common questions about us

What exactly is a book club?

A book club is made up by people who like to read and to build a community with the aim to discover, read and discuss more great books – even books they would have never chosen to read otherwise. Sometimes, these people have something more in common (their place of residence, their workplace, or a shared interest, much like we share our interest in women’s empowerment and equality in public life) and may base the content or the meetings of their club around that.

Keep in mind that a book club is not necessarily and exclusively composed of bookworms, intellectuals, or scholars. And it’s not necessary that every member reads the book proposed by the club every month, without ever missing a meeting. In the end, a book club is composed of people who love books and stories, and who wish to learn something more, together.

How do I find out about Female Founders Hub themed circles?

Upcoming cycles will be announced on the site, our social media and of course through the monthly FFH Newsletter. If you don’t already follow us, you can do so on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

Can I take part in FFH while I'm away?

Of course! The Female Founders Hub is a community of female entrepreneurs from all over Greece. So not only you can, but we welcome the participation of women from any region, even from outside the country.

What is the POWER UP package that was included in the original announcement?

POWER UP is a package that gives access, in addition to the 11 aforementioned meetings, to the FFH Mastermind Group, a closed group of female entrepreneurs who join forces online once a month, with the aim of working in depth on their business challenges, and create a tight, active circle of mutual support and exchange of advice, tools, opinions and knowledge.

Registration for this package closed on December 1st, but you’ll have another chance to express your interest next year!

Can I opt-in whenever I want?

The answer is yes! Applications for the GROW package, which includes 11 meetings per year, are still open and memberships last for 12 months.

Are there selection criteria for the Female Founders Hub?

To join the Female Founders Hub you must be a female entrepreneur, with 3+ years of business experience, and a willingness to grow.

Why should I join an entrepreneur community?

Why not? Or, in other words:
When you acquire the knowledge and tools you need to grow, then you have a much better chance of achieving the goals you set. However, when you also find yourself in a community, with other women who are on the same wavelength and want to support each other, join forces and learn from each other's experience, then any business goal you set can become a reality - and you can enjoy yourself in the meantime!

What is the Women On Top mentoring platform?

Perhaps you feel that your friends or family are not the best people to help you address your concerns about work. Or you might feel that the issues you are facing are too thorny to ever be resolved. Even so, mentoring through WoT can in fact offer a fresh perspective and help you make your work one of the best parts of your life.

What’s the difference between mentoring, coaching, and counselling?

A very important aspect of the mentoring process is the sharing of mentor’s knowledge and experiences with the mentee. Moreover, the mentee can ask for her mentor’s opinion and feedback. In coaching relationships, on the other hand, the coach must remain objective and refrain from expressing their personal views and opinions or sharing their personal experiences. Coaches use specific methods and tools to assist in the personal and professional growth of their coachees.

In addition, in the context of mentoring, as designed and implemented by WoT, mentors are volunteers coming from different fields of work and sectors, whereas coaches offer their services in a professional capacity.

Lastly, mentoring can become a long-term relationship, whereas coaching is (usually) a more short-term collaboration.

The main difference between mentoring and counselling/therapy is that mentoring focuses on the professional growth of the mentee instead of any personal issues/challenges they might be facing. Counselling/therapy, on the other hand, mainly focuses on self-consciousness and personal growth. Moreover, as in the case of coaching, counsellors are specialised professionals, offering their services against payment.

Nonetheless, all three approaches use some common tools and practices, and, of course, skills, such as active listening, building of a safe framework of trust, and empathy.
