Maria Matskalidi grew up in Athens and is a graduate of the Department of History and Ethnology at the Democritus University of Thrace. Regarding her career path, she started her professional journey in the field of education as a teacher – as part of her studies. However, since 2017 she has been working in the field of energy, specifically in electricity and natural gas sales, and is currently working for the Mytilineos group. During the last few years, she has also been involved with Event Planning, working as a planner assistant for Sparking Day Events. As part of that role, she is responsible for the planning and organisation of weddings, parties, christenings, etc. Through WoT, her goal is to actively contribute to women’s economic empowerment and equality as well as deepen her knowledge on gender equality. In her free time, she enjoys going to the cinema, traveling, dancing and hiking in nature.
